Sorry, left out a few details, as in, the light was connected to the battery and I live on the river so the boat was hanging in slip. I suppose they didn't want to take the extra 20 seconds to lift back hatch and dis-connect, so they just cut the cord and bolted.

That should be legal grounds to hunt them down and end them. I hate a thief worse than anything.

No! You end them over the principle of it. Monetary value isn't the reason. The fact that they stole someone elses property is why you end them.

I hate a thief too but I'm sure we have all made stupid decisions growing up. I stole a bunch of golf balls when I was younger. Thank god I survived. I also stole a few beers out of my dad's ice chest through the years. I will be on the look out for a sniper since I have now confessed. |

If its a teenager that did it because he was stupid and his buddies dared him to you take him to his dad. Hopefully dad takes a leather strap to him. If its a grown person that wants to pawn it for dope money you put a hollowpoint in them. Maybe a tomahawk. Ammo is expensive. |

Your odds are iffy even in a righteous shoot, because people lie and public servants are often to busy to give proper attention to details that can have a big impact on your life down the road. Do you have six figures to burn on a legal defense over a $100 thing? Your odds on a borderline claim of self-defense are even worse. All your savings and retirement are gone. You may or may not do time, and the scumbags relatives will sue you into bankruptcy if there is anything left after the criminal case. An on-line posting history of intending to shoot for less than an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm won't help either. |

Sheesh folks... lighten up..
I am pretty sure Duck is not going around providing ventilation services to anyone deciding to shoplift candy from the local seven eleven. He is however passionate about his rights, and would certainly use them to defend his family and friends in a true crisis scenario. |
