Default Bachelor party near LC

My future BIL is having his bachelor party this weekend at a camp they rented somehwhere on the east side of Big Lake. They are wanting to head towards the beach to do a little wade fishing, is anyone catching along the beaches out of the ship channel? Also has anyone been catching at any of the weirs? These guys wont care if its drum, trout, or sharks they just want to catch a few fish and mostly drink beer. Also where are a few places to go out in LC for a good party? I know and have been to Cowboys but not sure of other places. I was thinking about La Berge also.

The name of the place we are staying is Biglake guest house.

New club in Vinton across from the Longhorn just opened up.
If you go, let us know what kind of talent they have.

Winds have been kicking azz out the East the past few days.
Fishing is prollly best on the East side or in protected areas.

Not this past Friday. Fished for 30 minutes with finger mullet and shad and only caught 1 small catfish inside at Grand bayou. Another boat was catching a few sheepheads on Shrimps. Water was coming in strong.

The water there was muddy due to the dirt levee work going on just outside the wier.

Lamberts water and fishing was better. I think the levee work will be moving down to the west side of Lamberts soon.

Thanks guys, since my bay boat still has motor problems I will prob. just stay in the camp and watch football unless it is dead calm. I will let the other guys go fight the waves in their 16" expresses. No way im running to the east bank from Heberts in those boats. They said they were guna do it but these guys have never fished BL either, lol.

Well planned on fishing but one of the smart guys I was with set my rods in the boat then climbed in and stepped on them breaking 2 American rods and a Cast Away. Pretty much ruined my day so I went back to the camp. 3 of the 4 guys in the boat never salt watered fished so I gave them my 2 tackle bags, put them some popping corks on and told them to go find some live shrimp. They were able to locate some and they went back in the marsh towards the red and white checkered water tower by Calcasieu point. They called me an hour later and said they had 14 reds. I called BS but low and behold they did. They found a little current and would just throw the corks out like they were bream fishing. Never even popped them. They said thy caught 27 reds and 1 trout in just over an hour with 14 reds being keepers. They went back that evening and caught 7 more. Begineers luck!! The only bar we went to was Cocahoes b/c everything else was too far and nobody volunteered to drive drunk. There was not many people in the bar, only thing worth while in there was the smokin hot Bar tender.

Well...It sounds like it must have been funner than a smashed finger...I guess.

Gotta love it when a day starts out with a bigtime breakage!
