Roy, the above, for the most part, is strictly BS but I really doubt anyone will give you an exact spot on the Lake where this fish was caught and rightfully so. Take your boat to BL, launch at CP landing, start fishing, head south looking for green water and bait fish. Work leeward and if possible and not too rough ,windward sides of the lake.

BTW, without a doubt, this is the best forum for any outdoor info on SW LA. Great group of sportsmen here...enjoy. Glad to see another central LA guy in here.

try different speeds and harder pops sloer pops...when it hit dont set the hook...lot of the time they blee up on it and didnt take it...keep working it..once you get it your an addic...this year i threw skitters and x raps for 14 weeks..no jigs...its CRACK...LOL..

Man that is a nice trout....even better on topwater. How big was the blowup,did you know right away it was a beast?

It blew up big but not crazy...caught as far as i could throw..way out there..surfaced half way to the boat...thought maybe red but had a small shake underwater then went crazy at the boat...was by mysef netted it and it fell out and re netted and started high fiving myself..lol...was around 4:30 or so and called it quits at 6...was too pumped up..lol

Isnt it crazy when you boat fish like this by yourself how pumped you still are alone!!! I caught a few hog bass and did the same thing you did. The adrenaline of netting your own fish or lippin one and having it kick out is crazy!
