Default reel repair in louisiana

I have always done my own reel maintenance, but was curious on who in louisiana worked on them, and what it would cost. I have a few old chronarchs and curados that I still beat up, but they might need a little more tlc than I can give them such as new brakes etc. Anybody ever send them off to shimano?

Default Try Cajun Reel Repair

I've used Ron Ardoin with Cajun Reel Repairs in Bell City (just outside of Lake Charles) and he does a great job. He can repair and refresh. http://cajunrodandreelrepair.com/

I know a guy that cleans them for 12 bucks a reel plus parts if needed. He also repairs rod guides for a good price. Call us at redmonds marine or just drop them off.

While we're on this topic, what do you suggest for maintenance / cleaning after each trip? How often for a complete tear down cleaning?

I dropped a couple of reels off with my stepdad and he brought them to reelman2 along with a few of his, this was last summer, and We were both very satisfied with both the repair work and cleaning that was done .. I'd recommend him!!

FlagUS cleaning after each trip

If you will take a spray bottle and put two or three inches of simple green and the rest water. Spray a paper towel with a little of the mixture then wipe the reel and rod down.
Dont spray the reels. Water will work its way into the reel.

A complete cleaning depends on how you protect your reels.
Do they ride in the back of a truck on a gravel road?
If you fish hard clean every 6 months if you fish
only 1 or 2 times a month 12 months between cleaning.
I hope this helps some of you fishermen.
Remember every man has his own way of doing things.
This is the way I do my reels and the way I tell my costomers.
[It works]

Thanks

would you mind sending your physical address and maybe a phone number on a PM? I live in Iota and will bring some work your way after I get them gathered up.
