Default Friday Hunt/jewelry

Decided to make a early morning hunt before work. Unfortunately it would appear that our birds left; only shot two. I heard a lot of shooting south of us but had very little flight today.

I took my wife's uncle today; this is his 4th time hunting and his 5th bird EVER. Isn't that Karma; 30+ yrs hunting I've never seen a band this guys shoots his first with me.

We are south of I-10 in Welsh not far from HWY99. This is my first year in the lease. I was in Kaplan the past three seasons and evidently not in a great area as we had some really sub-par hunting.

To early to tell on the new lease but I shot more boxes of shells in the first two teal weekends than I did in two seasons in Kaplan.

The past few years in Kaplan have been very very bad. It's better this year but nothing like it was even 4 or years ago

I guess i just got into it a bad time. The lease I was in was just the past two seasons, the guys who invited me in was there third year there. The numbers dropped substantially in the past three years from when they first started. There first year they killed close to 450 birds, last season we capped out at 160 including Teal Season. I don't quite understand it because the overall duck numbers where up and we had really cold weather.
