Default Cypremort pt

Went put down at quintana canal solo and went to the reefs again, weather was very favorable early, slight to moderate winds out of ene, water was a little stained , 2 out of 7 on clean scale, high tide moving slow, water temp was about 86 degrees, fished in about 5ft of water. The moon was under foot at around 10am. Main presentation used was glow shrimp under a popping cork and tandem rigged chartruese beetles.

Caught 22 speckled trout(12 to 14 inches), had to move around some and couldn't get the last 3 for the limit because the weather was closing in from all directions, so I had to make a move. All in all it was another great trip....

I havent tried for the bigger trout yet that you usually catch at a couple of the other reefs but its coming soon....

Tight ones boys

You ought to see VB now. The algae bloom has hit us. Lime Green kelp looking algae everywhere. More prominent in Cote Blanch Bay. Check out the satellite view for July 20 on EOSDIS and you can see it clearly in Cote Blanch. I was out there yesterday and saw it first hand.

Mind if I ask where around Burns Point? I've been fishing Humble Cut last couple weeks here and there without any luck on reds, just blue cats. Just wondering if the reds turned on finally? I'll be going out there Saturday.

I just Carolina rigged dead shrimp on the bottom near pilings that were about 2 miles west of burns point....probably any of those pilings hold fish. Sometimes I do well on black drum and sheepshead on these pilings also.

How long does it take for the water to get right again when there is a algae bloom? I went to the Jaws area today and the water was pea green with algae floating in it. It didn't look good at all.
