Default Calling all Triple tail fishers

I'll be collecting as much info on Triple tail fishing here in Louisiana. What I'm interested in is how many of you actual target TTT's?, how many per trip or per year do you land? What size fish are you catching? I and others I fish with catch contain 90% mature-18" fish and 10% juvenile. With about and average count for a year to be 40-50 fish. I know you guys over in Lake Borgne do a lot of catching/ targeting how do your seasons go from year to year? My trips this year I'm at zero, no fish yet, have only been able to get out 6 times. Hoping the next couple of months I'll be able to get on some fish. Anyway hope to get some input from others out there.

I have a small bay boat so it's hard for me to target them except very calm days. But i love fishing for them. I only made one trip so far this year targeting them begininng of July. Landed one. Hooked a few that came off. Should have landed 4-5. It MAY have been 16".

Last year made I think 3-4 trips. Caught 15 one trip. 2 on the other. And scratched once or twice with seas being too rough.

I have caught 56 so far this year in 11 trips. Some trips yielded 1-2 while other trips I caught up to 14-15. I can't give you accurate numbers in length but can say the average weighed 8-10 pounds.
I have noticed as of recently the fish have become much more spooky when approached. Earlier in the summer you could literally touch them with your rod tip.

That one that I caught was on a sand eel. Was trolling and looked and by the time I saw it, it was maybe 10 ft away. Stopped trolling motor flipped to it first cast hammered it. First one I ever caught.

Weightless or 1/16 ounce sand eel or grub. Or a gulp 12-18 inches under cork.

I use 4" gulp pearl white shrimp on a 1/4 oz jig head. Just keep it near the surface.
