Default Burns point 10-5

Got to the launch before sun up and water was accross the road at the park. Hit our first few spots with no luck. Found some grass beds that we can't usually get into but with the high water we were able get into some new spots and started catching on gold spoons and spinnerbaits. Ended up getting a three man limit by 11:00. It was a good day.

Sweet! That tide was crazy yesterday. Normally when there's a storm to the east we have a low tide. Not sure what was up with that.

The bait was crazy yesterday. I threw a castnet once and caught a few dozen mullet. All the fish were full of mullet when we cleaned them. One red had five mullet in him. Dude was a pig.

Anyone have a picture of the lock down clamp? Looking on Minn Kota site and can't find anything under lock down clamp.

They are talking about the collar that that slides up and down to control the depth that the trolling motor goes down. Make sure you put it all the way down or the trolling motor will flip out of the harness and break the shaft if you accidentally dont lock it when you stow it.

Ask me how i know? LOL

Yeah if your coming from lafeyette it's 25 miles past the Cypermount point exit. You exit LA-317 and it's 20 miles to the burns point state park.

Redfishing is good and they are real close to landing. Can go and catch a limit without having to run more than five miles north or south of the landing. The trout aren't in quite yet. If your going you will need to buy bait before you go because the stores don't carry bait.

More towards the humble cut. We are going this evening. Going to run out to rabbit island and see if the specs are in yet. I'll post an update after we are done.
