Default Sabine NWR Bridge Gone?

Does anyone know if the bridge on Unit E in Sabine is gone? I was looking at google earth earlier, and noticed that the bridge does not appear in the imagery. I haven't been out there in over a year, so I don't have any first hand knowledge of it. The last imagery that shows it is 2013.

I mean, common sense says that since the imagery in January 2015 doesn't show it, its gone. But I wasn't sure if they were replacing it, or if they just tore it out. Was planning to make a hunt on Sabine since I will be in the area this weekend, but didn't want to haul my pirogue all the way from BR.

Well damn. That blows my plan up. Might have to bring the pirogue after all. Was it in bad shape? Seems like the last time I was out there it was in pretty good shape still. I mean it doesn't even look like the trail that ran along that levee is there any more.

My old map shows the units as 1, 2 , 3 etc.

Are you talking about the wooden bridge about a mile west of the West Cove boat launch?

The bridge down Valspar Road, so yeah, the one west of the West Cove launch. Didn't think it was wooden though. I seem to remember crossing a concrete bridge, but I may be thinking of the first one that crosses the canal.

Been gone a year and a half or so. They pulled out the lil concrete bridges after they did what I heard was some "oil well work" from here say.

It is interesting, because that road did run to what looked like a pad, which is not in the 2015 aerial. Maybe they went out and removed that pad, and the road was no longer needed and they were required to pull it out as part of the action.

That sounds pretty much like that. May be even longer than that. They had some pretty big equipment and trucks moving down that old levee.
