Default Fished out of the Saltwater Barrier

Launched out of the Saltwater Barrier for a change of pace...

Fished the East powerline cut, lots of water coming out and good pickle bite... Ran up to 171, and fished down the West bank hitting the cuts... No water moving there but picked up a couple of keepers... All fish on red/black soft plastic creature baits, texas rigged with no weight...

Back on the trailer for 0930... Hot, still, and hazy this morning...

Just to the North Paul... Another month or so and I'll start the annual search for specks from Prien to the North, the barrier is on my short list once things cool off... Last year we did so well in Lake Charles that we didnt run upstream much past I-10...

I can't wait for that first cold front !!!

got that one on a gulp shrimp on the bottom. good luck in a yak, I really didn't want to get it in my boat with plenty of room, once you see that mouth open, and all those teeth, kinda makes you not want to mess with him!

When the water gets salty the trout will move up to the Salt water barrier area. Watch this link and when it gets up to about 8 ppt, trout should start to show up at the SWB. The current reading is ~2.5, so it will 2 or 3 more weeks.....or longer if we get more rain NE of Lake Charles.

Some trout are in the I-210 area now.
