If you're a regular fisherman out of the Point, you accept the fact that these areas will be crowded, noisy, with rude sports and a host of other distractions. If you want to join the masses don't complain! If not, that's when you get away from the crowds and fish more secluded spots. There are literarily 100s of small reefs, trash piles and well heads that very few people fish and at this time of year the trout are all over the bay. Explore, get a good chart of VB and find off the beaten areas to lose the crowds. You do have plenty options!

Didn't get a bait in the water until 4:40 but all I caught was one white trout and a 17" drum. Lots of small gaftops. I drifted the cove twice and fished for 20 minutes by some camps. Every boat I talked to today said 2,3, or 4 fish. Didn't seem like a good day today. I had intentions of trying weeks bay but didn't really have much time. Caught the white trout on a fresh shrimp under a cork and caught the drum tight lining with a gulp chart swimming mullet

Plucked away these yesterday afternoon @ small satellites north of dry reef.

Wind about to mess things up for the weekend in VB. But FYI, the flounder have started in BL

Default Fishing CP

I have tried fishing there a few years back. Did not take long to realize how so many people can be so rude! My wife and I agreed we will never fish there again, and we have never returned. I would rather go out of ICY. and catch some catfish than fight them jerks. Fishing should be relaxing not a competition trying to outdo other boats! Thanks my 2 cents....

Are the gaftop still thick around icy and fearman area? Been wanting to take my stepdaughter out on the water before it gets cold but she's only 6. You have to keep her rod and reel busy. Figured gaftop is the way to go.

I've heard of people catching trout at the mouth of delcambre a time or two. Is there a reef right there somewhere? I've caught everything else there but trout.

There was a submerged rock wall a few years ago that was marked with signs i would hammer trout on around 2012-2013. I have also caught limits around there chasing birds, but not right up on the opening where everyone tends to fish.

then, in the spring of 2014 i went, the signs were gone, the rock wall was gone and i was sad. not sure what happened to it. did it sink into the mud? was it taken out? not sure. there are some trout there but not like they were when that wall was there.

any one remember it, or know what happened to it?

I've seen boats fishing about 200 yards to the right when you come out of the Avery into the bay. I'm guessing that's where it was. I'll try to find out what happened to it
