FlagUS Da Weirs official report 7-13-14

took off early sunday morning looking for trout. only caught one by 7am and did not feel like running offshore, so i decided to head to the weirs. pulled up amongst the 70 other boats and threw my anchor as hard as i could into the water, insuring proper placement. forgot to bring my big castnet so i was stuck using a small piece of junk from academy. shrimp were pretty large and steady. took about an hour or just a bit more to get the "limit" of shrimp. i only had a 1 gallon bucket so i did my best to keep track. ended up being a little shy of the limit but it was more than my hands needed to peel when we got back. left the weirs and decided to try to catch a couple more trout. not a good day for trout but pretty happy about the skrimps. does anyone know when the private property shuts down to public fisherman again? i think its been open for 2 days plus maybe today?
had some really good sized shrimp and the one pictured was just the average.

i seen the same thing. there was a j14 carolina skiff with an anchor off a tug boat. then some guy decided to take hi 15' marsh anchor and slap it against the water, this was after he fell straight on his back for trying to castnet on a slick aluminum seat with crocks on while soaking wet..... "the more you know"
