Have been going to Academy for the last few weeks in Lafayette and still havent gotten a shipment of the orange/blue shrimp baskets for cast netting. Anyone know a place in Lafayette that has them in stock?

Academy in Lake Charles has them.
Gulf Coast Supply in Cameron does too. They sell commercial fishing gear.

drill some holes where the handles where and take a piece of rope run it through and tie a knot on each end.

And put the rope through a little piece of PVC or garden hose to make a better handle.

About a year ago..... I saw some $ 5 plastic buckets that were a perfect size for shrimping and looked fairly strong. Just needed a few holes dirlled in them. This was at Lowes or Home Depo......don't remember which.

Did not buy one, because I had one already.

I use a bottom off a plastic 55 gal. Drum. Drilled holes and put ripe handles and drilled holes for drainage. They are durable and last forever and won't blow out when empty.
