No weight and 18 to 24 inches from jug use shad or mullet and if u can get ur hands on some duck or goose gut try baiting with that promise you do real good and glad u tried it

1 quart oil can, tie a string (crab line or samthin) as long as you need, tie a 3/0 or 4/0 hook at the end, then take a big nail or 3/8"x2-3" bolt and tie it ~24" above hook for weight. Slap a chicken heart, worm or liver on it and let it soak.

Never let me down.

You can sub the oil can for whatever you can find that floats - those swimming noodles cut in 18" lengths work well but are very easy for others to see and check...

Different setups are gonna work for different areas. Using weights, size of jugs, bait and line depth depends where your fishing them. What works well in a canal might not do the same as in the middle of a lake.

My jugs range from 3ft - 5ft deep. They also range from pool noodles with pvc pipe to 1 liter coke bottles, 20oz bottles, 2 liter bottles etc. all of them have no weight
