Default 6-2-18 Calcasieu Crappie

Got to white oak park a little later than I wanted this am. Even though I was late was surprised At the 20 something truck and trailers already launched. Started fishing around 830 . First spot caught a nice one then the 2nd spot was better but had to leave them biting. Huge wasp nest took over exactly where I need to be to catch em there. I tried around the back side but resulted in too many hang ups so I'll save the spot for another day and come back prepared to take out a wasp nest! Was gettin low on shiners already anyway from all the hang ups so went to an easy spot to fish and they were biting there too but a slow bite. Managed to box 17 before running out of shiners. Fish are starting to move closer to deep water. A few of my holes in 20 feet or so have some tops in 10-12 feet and they are hanging around right there on the edge. Almost all fish caught in 9-12 feet fishing 6 feet and tighlining to bottom .

Great trip. Bring you some wasp spray next trip. Water still looks pretty stained.

Great and informative report.
I hate wasps in river trees, too.
