Okay that was a debate in the blind this year more than once. Are try legal to shoot? I hear I heard yes in Texas my buddy says they are legal to shoot here? What's the limit? Also Are they in aggregate with your duck limit?

During big duck season, you can shoot 6 whistling ducks, not during the early teal season.
Yes, they count against your 6 duck limit

in the waterfowl pamphlet for big duck season, you will see the species of ducks that have different limits than 6 (canvasback, pintail, mallards, mottled ducks, redheads, etc.), everything else not listed is 6 (teal, fulvous whistlers, black-bellied whistlers, gadwall, ruddy ducks, even crazy things like scoters, oldsquaw and eiders if you happened upon them)

3 out of 4 flyways to vote on it. The way I interpreted Larry's message is that this is a slam dunk or close to it.

Government is the government; I should know. They move like Molasses in January and study to the point of analysis paralysis.

Just the fact that the banding program has started for black bellies and money is being spent toward the study of whistler's bodes well for future harvests and seasons in my opinion.

We had a few squealers at our place in Klondike. But I hunted with my buddy Danny a few times in grande chenier and they were ate up with em. It was ridiculous! Glad to confirm they are legal although I won't be shooting any. The ones we killed last year we cleaned and I found they didn't have much meat on the bone to em.

I really like the refuge forums, good site. To bad we can't post about salty Cajun on the Louisiana site we could use a few more duck hunters on here.

I believe the vote is End of June/July. We will know for sure by July.

Are they also considering a few extra days in addition to the six teal limit?

I don't think he said anymore than 16 days. Duck Enticer may have heard otherwise. I can't see them increasing limit and days.

I agree. I do not think it can be extended past SEPT. I guess if we get the 16 days which is due to the count being over I think 3 million teal then it will help us with them extending the extra 2 bird limit. However, if count does not give us the 16 day season I highly doubt they will give us the extra 2 bird limit.
