I went with a buddy of mine in Lake Salvador to run some juglines with live crawfish.... we caught redfish, catfish, croaker and even a couple speckled trout, I couldn't believe and I wouldn't have if I didn't bait the hooks.

I do some jug-fishing in southwest La. but I have never used live crawfish...usually cut Buffalo or chicken heart. Using live crawfish is something that I would like to try. How exactly do you hook them. When I was a kid my dad and I used live crawfish for gasper goo but it's been so long I forgot how to rig them.

We've used live crawfish to catch redfish and drum. Gotta try them for catfish.

hook them threw the tail, but you need to peel off half of the head shell. They stay alive but the smell travels and makes them bite very good.
