Default 9mm vs .45

I doubt many will watch this all the way through but the findings are pretty astonishing on handguns and "stopping power".

watched whole vid, it still narrows down to shot placement! but a rifle wound is almost always fatal when its a higher caliber, causes more trauma and loss of blood. one reason we hunt with them for big game animals!

and even shot placement may not be enough. interesting that the hollow-point mushroom effect can work to cause less damage by slowing the bullet down. to me this puts the debate to bed about one round vs another as their doesn't appear to be a magic hand gun bullet.

well another consideration, a hollow point can impact then mushroom and not penatrate threw a coat, sweater a shirt and skin! one reason hornady puts a little rubber ball in there hollow points, helps clothing from getting caught up in hp. if you use ballistic gel to test a round, a good handgun round that does 18-24 inches of penetration will cause fatal damage. not all handgun ammo even hollow points and fmj are equal all use different powder charges and different weight bullets, all hollow points are different some are designed to hold together and not to mushroom as fast as they penetrate. Also the type of barrel used in the gun also determines a lot longer barrel helps the bullet to get higher velocities verses a short barrel. a pistol round coming out of a carbine with a 16inch barrel does so much more damage then a concealed carry model handgun with a 3 or 4in barrel, the powder in the load can burn more causing more energy. these studies are just gun shot studies not all info is there like type of gun, ammo, barrel length, distance of shot.

and the 9 vs 40 vs 45 crap of course .45 is gonna win because the round is heavier causes more penetration and delivers more energy on impact. which causes more bleeding and its why its more deadly. this video just supports the idea that a handgun is only good enough as a back up to help you get to a real gun which would be a rifle or a shotgun!

its all about shot placement!!! end of story. I work in a trauma unit and youd be surprised how many people survive gunshot wounds and even more surprising is how many survive gunshot wounds to the head. its all bout placement, and even a simple headshot isn't good enough. gotta hit the right parts.
