Default Glock

I'm asking my wife for a new pistol for Christmas. Last night I started reading all of the old treads and from what I gather Glock is the way to go but there is so many diff. options. I think I want a 9mm but I have not ruled out the .40 yet and I was looking on academy site and I noticed the 17 and 19 have lifetime warranty but the 22 only has a 1 year. Anybody know what's up with that?

I have a 19, but if you go wit a .40 cal, you can buy a conversion kit for around a $100, and it'll shoot .40 and 9mm. Makes plinking much more affordable since 9mm is much cheaper.
