Default Son's First Shotgun?

Going to to get my 7 yr old a 20 GA for Christmas. I've heard good things about the Mossburg Mini.. Don't want to spend more than $300 on one for sure, anyone have any other recommendations (besides the Rossi kit)?

Anyone have a good used one for sale?

I'm set on a 20, so save your time on pushing me to .410 or 28 GA.

No experience with that particular gun, but I do own a Mossberg autoloader and love it. 20 gauge is perfect size also.

i just bought my son a tristar 20 gauge before teal season and it's performed well. it's semi auto so it has low recoil and i think lafayette shooters has them for $300

My son shoots his 22 better than his pellet rifle and I think it has more to do with the weight of the gun than any thing else. The .22 is much lighter. I'd look for something light.
