Default Winchester SXP or Remington 887?

Anyone have an experience with either of these? Been reading a lot on both of them and can't make up my mind. Don't waste your breathe on the Benelli, Novas and all those guns. My budget's not that high. I'll have about 350 to put towards a shotgun after I sell my 30-30.

When the 887 first came out in 09 when I bought one they were junk as is most firearms wen they are gen 1...but now Remington is supposed to have it all worked out and I hear they are very good for the price also love the look...if I was gonna buy another pump is prolly give it another shot.

I wouldn't touch an 887. You can't get a Nova for 350? I didn't think they cost that much!

Well, Academy here has em for $400, not that bad, but still alittle much for my blood.

What's the reason for "I wouldn't touch an 887"? It really is annoying when someone says something like that and gives no reason for such.

Because it's a POS. Seen my friend throw his across the dove field one day. It stayed jammed up. Search out some reviews on the web and see how many folks have trouble with them.

Yeah I've read em. And I've read a lot of people had the same issue and just cleaned the gun up and oiled it and it worked just fine.

I thought the novas were like $300. Must have went up. Or the super novas may be a little more.

Not sure if benelli still makes the nova now....i think it is only the super nova model now. I Bought a super nova a few years ago as my back up gun....camo with comfort tech and it was like 500-550 with tax. To me, it is well worth the little extra cash.

Well, made the decision to go with the 887. It looks like it would be a cheap gun and feels plastic at first, but its a stout gun. Played hardball for alittle while, broke it down and oiled the trigger assembly up, cycles great now. Can't wait to get it out and shoot it.
