FlagUS An EPIC story!!!!

I had the honor last night of watching a documentary of Steve Gleason and his struggles with ALS. Recently my wife (Amber) and I met Steve in New Orleans for a benefit for ALS. Even before this event, Steve was dear to my heart for talking with my wife and staying in contact with her. Through this journey my wife has met some very challenging obstacles and has seem to overcome so many odds. Its amazing to see how much fight people afflicted with ALS put out in efforts to raise awareness... whether its at home, in our local community, or throughout the nation like Steve. I consider myself lucky to be apart of something bigger than anything i have ever dreamed of. What got me the most was to see how many people put their lives on hold daily just to help Steve and his family... truly a blessing to have friends like that. Amber saw the people carrying Steve up Machu Picchu and said "thats you babe... our home is my mountain." Absolutely floored me with tears.

To our surprise, my wife was pictured in this NFL documentary for a few seconds with her friend Greg!!!!! Greg is a loving father and devoted husband... and personal friend of mine who i can say has absolutely floored me with his determination. No words could describe how i felt last night seeing those two in the documentary. My wife was in tears... good tears. If you would like to share in some hope and inspiration please visit these two websites!! the first is a blog about our adventure in New Orleans and the second is a little about the documentary last night. Thanks for reading!

I played ball in high school with a guy who made it to the NFL, and a couple of years later he was diagnosed with ALS. He has been living on a Vent for about the last 10 years. Very terribl disease!!
