Default Pecan Island Landing question.

How does one get permission or a permit to launch at the old Exxon Landing on the lower ridge at Pecan Island?

Is there a locked gate across the landing or parking area?

You need to buy a Vermilion Corp permit. They require you carry a certain amount of liability insurance as well. They are in the phone book. Call them up and they can give you the details.

that be a $million in liability on your boat, plus permit, you looking at about 700 per year total, there is parking with a locked launch

That would be an expensive couple of catfish. I won't even consider calling them. Thanks.

I hear the fishing in there is great, but have never been able to put the funds together.

It's definitely not what it used to be. It is very dirty right now.

You do need a permit and insurance. Vermilion Sheriff writing tickets if you launch without permit.
