That is a baby compared to the big mommas in there....few years ago when I had a 14' flat I was on the side of one that was almost as long as the boat.

I wonder if they hunt them....seems like every year you see more and more. After the breeding season you will see 3-4 chilling on the same log.

There is a landowner that is allowed one tag in the lake, but doesn't utilize it. I work right there a good bit and there are some sure enough studs in there. Right at dawn in May is a good time to be there and you can hear the big males out there 'calling' for the females. Pretty cool and eery at the same time

I won't swim in either potna!!! Now that bull sharks are more in the mix!!! I'd rather take my chances at the beach... More eyes to watch out for intruders!!!

There are two very very large ones that hang out on the north side. Giants

all I know is that if you stop on the gravel raod in the most of the time, they will come to your vehicle. I have seen so many photographers feed them to get them closer. it isnt funny when you stop now, to let you kids look and they come a swimming to get some grub!

Yep, I am out there a good bit and have seen some people act very silly when they see a gator, even try to get pics with their kids near a gator, its like all common sense goes out the window.
St Martin Parish actually has an ordinance where feeding alligators is illegal also, so if you see it again you can report it if you want. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but when an 8' alligator associates people with food, its never good, especially when kids are involved The parents are candidates for the Darwin Award, but the kids don't deserve it
