official tourney rules:
Tournament Rules 1) DATE – JUNE 5, 2010 ***MUST BE CCA MEMBER in good standing.*** LATE REGISTRATION until 7:00 AM. Fishing time 5:30AM until 1:00PM. Weigh in from 7:00AM – 1:00PM. All participants must weigh in by 1:00 or be in line to weigh. NO EXCEPTIONS. Registration fee is contract to be bound by the terms of the rules, release & indemnity agreement and to take a polygraph. Polygraph will be utilized, failure of test will disqualify participant. Any contestant determined by the polygraph examiner to be intoxicated or using illegal substances at the time of the polygraph will be disqualified. 2) WEIGH CARD must be presented to weigh fish. Trout must be weighed by contestant that caught the fish. Each contestant may only tender 1 fish for the weigh in. Participants are responsible for their fish throughout weigh-in until such time that an official weight is declared. 3) FISHING AREA: Calcasieu Lake, LA. Boundaries are Sabine Lake, LA side to the Gulf Jetties to catfish locks on Mermentau River. Public Areas Only! Licensed anglers must launch on LA side and fish on LA side. 4) TO ENCOURAGE CATCH & RELEASE: All anglers trout weighed at the official scales which are returned to the water alive will receive a bonus of 8 oz. added to their official weight 5) Fresh water guides that do not guide for any saltwater species can fish as regular contestant. Any person that has guided saltwater species 6 MONTHS previous to the tournament is not qualified to enter. 6) All fish entered into competition for prizes must have been caught and landed by qualified contestants on conventional rod, hook & line. 7) CHILDREN’S DIVISION: 17 & under – FREE when accompanied by registered adult. 8) Youth can pay $25 entry fee to fish in adult division. This allows him/her to compete for adult prizes, but will disqualify them in the youth division. Parent or guardian responsible for taking polygraph. 9) All rulings of the weigh master & biologists shall be final! Any protests must be in writing and submitted by 4:00pm day of weigh-in to the tournament committee. All decisions of tournament committee are final. 10) All State & Federal penal codes shall apply at all times. 11) All State Wildlife & Fisheries and Coast Guard regulations shall apply at all times. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in disqualification. 12) CCA will not be responsible for weather conditions. 13) All participants in tournament boat must be registered to fish tournament. 14) All prizes over $500 must fill out IRS form W9 at the time they receive their award. 15) Sportsmanship, courtesy, and safety are expected from participants. 16) In case of a weight tie, the first fish weighed in wins. 17) Any fish with any tag will be ineligible for prizes, as they are a part of CCA/LDWF tagging study. The parent or guardian will have to take the poly to se if they are lying about who caught the fish...them or the kid.

Can u register for cca and tournament at the launch or do I need to do cca before hand

Yes, you can register until 7am the morning of at either Cal Point, Cormies, or Cocahoes.
