Yes it's got 400000 miles on it now. I had the 6speed Asian in it and I never had any problems with it. I have pulled 30000 with it.

New dodge 6.7 have nothing on the 5.9. They have a good engine but ****ty *** everything else

Go with a ford instead.
They will haul more
More reliable
Trans wont fall out
They will haul ***
Ac is bullet proof
Straight axel
Will pull the trans and front end out of a chevy
Will pull the body apart on a dodge.

The front end in a dodge is the second worse other than chevy. Ford has the best with the dana 60 and 2 huge free axel connections. Over all ford is the best on the market weather you like it or not.
Buy a ford to hang with the big boys

My good friend works at hub city ford....they break just as much as the dodge or chevy. I'm not worried much about repairs I can do my own work. This was not a discussion about dodge chevy or ford simply about two different cummins engines.

My uncle has put over 500,000 on two different 1 ton dodges without any out of the ordinary repairs. These had the 5.9 engine and 6 spd manual.

New 6.7 is trash. They look fantastic! But I dont like to stand on the side of the road next to a pretty truck.......all the electronic crap they put in that powerstroke did it in.....bring back the 7.3 and you might have an argument........

Litterally Just rotated my tires, and climed out from under my 05 5.9 2500 4x4! Due to a little rattle and some wore out grease seals I Put $170 dollars worth of swaybar bushings, steering dampener, and sway bar linkage in this evening. 144,000 miles , and the front end feels new again! That's with 120,000 miles with 35 in. Tires. It's a 7 3/4 year old truck that drove off the lot for 36k back in 05. I feel like I got my money out of it already, and it's got a lot more to go!

Cummins forum has a lot of helpful advice. By the way cummins is the only passenger truck diesel with a million mile club.
