Default Getting apps and music off old phone to new? (iPhone)

Finally got a new phone. Here's my dilemma. Never hooked my old phone up to a computer. Went to hook it up the other day, and it shows that everything is going to mix with my wife's for some reason. I logged into my iTunes account but somehow the library shows her stuff. Is there any way I can transfer these things without ending up with all of my wife's apps and contacts and music on my phone?

I think you need to sync it on a different computer or create another profile on that one... Just my 2 cents

At least explain how to sync phone to a computer so I can back up all my contacts and pics and such. That way I won't fear doing a software upgrade.

On my new phone. Went to iTunes and logged in. Went to purchased then bottom right hit more. Then music comes up. Click music. The on type right it says not on this phone. Click that. Then all of your music comes up and I just hit download all.

Apps. Go to App Store. Hit updates then hit purchased and all your apps will come up. Download. No need to sync to computer.

If you have an iphone with iOS 5 or later you can sync and back up to icloud and don't have to hook it to a computer. I can't remember off hand the steps for syncing with the computer, but it's not difficult.
