I myself have no problem with a fisherman coming try to fish a new area!! I have a problem when a 27ft twin engine no trolling motor boat come pulls in a new area and trys to fish......You laugh but I have seen this before!! If you know how to fish your not going to be a problem.....Its the ones who dont have a clue!!!..... I have seen ski boat, party barges , offshore rigs , 14ft flats with no trolling motor and twin motor boats try to fish birds..... I mean I have seen some things!!........Or you get the guy who can toss a anchor 25ft......... Or a guy who has a racing troll motor!!! Or one who drives in wide open!!!! This is what our point is!! Its not to keep guys from fishing its to keep guys who have no clue from messing me or you up!!!

My daddy is better'en yo daddy??

I wasn't tring to pick a fight guys.......really.

And I admit I may be a little sensitive. Was out the game for a few years (divorce, job change) and when I wet the Simplepeddler for the first time I had all these sneerings looks, like who is this newbie?

I carried my own that day at the docks but still. I felt what it is like to be a rookie.
Finally one of the guides recognized me from the good old days when I used spend thousands with him in my first life.

all of a sudden it was like I was legit with the rest of the dock cocks.

I really do not want to be that guy.........
you know the one.....
my boat is the best
my reels are the best
my rods are better than yours.....
my place is the best........

In the immortal words of Rodney King "can't we all just get along?"......

Some act like Big Lake is the only spot on the coast to catch, not only a "trophy", but, trout in general. I've been fortunate enough to catch 3 trout over 8 lbs and none of 'em came from Big Lake.

Think about how yall would fell if u spent countless hours learning that lake trying to find good spots away from the crowds to avoid problems. You find them spots out in the middle of nowhere then joe blow pulls up on you wide open shuts down on top of you and starts pushing his gps buttons. Next thing you know next week theres 10 boats there. All your hardwork down the drain cause somebody seen you where they never seen a boat fish before and just had to get them cordinates cause they know they got it with the push of a button.

Yall take yalls crap way to seriously. Im sure somebody will say,"well your the one to talk" Well i finally relized a few weeks back, it aint about the catching, its about getting out there.
And don't you forget it. The catching is good, but don't let it ruin what it is all about.

there seems to be a lowering of IQ and etiquette once you launch your boat into big lake. i am not saying that doesn't happen elsewhere but it does seem to be more frequent there.

Boss, I understand totally what you and W are saying and I empathize with you guys. But, whatcha gonna do? Big Lake isn't that "big" and, with minimal pressure, there are no "secrets".

I have fished several bay systems and can assure you it's like that everywhere.

well, i guess it does happen in areas where there is a potential for big fish. i have seen it on Toledo Bend too. I stick to the marsh and I try to get in as far as I possibly can. Way less people there and that is the way I like it.

I can see where you are coming from BossHog, I really can.
But come on, you are in your "secret" spot "away from the crowd" and then all of a sudden this guy who knows nothing of where HE is much less where YOU are is going to hit a button and bring ten people back??

Most of the time, the real blow hard Johnny VP of Muckity Muck LLC who has just bought his first 28 foot 95 MPH at WOT bay boat blow in, not catch the fish and figure
WE are the idiots for sitting in a spot with no fish.

Really, I've seen it with the better guides for years. They just tell the client "don't get upset, they don't know how to catch em and will leave in a minute"

Greg Shlumberchet (sp) on Lake Borgne does it all the time.
