Question Old Gas

I did not use my boat last year due to health problems and I was wondering if I should replace the gas in the tank. Gas has been in tank for about two years. Also what other maintenance I should do to, I'm kind of gun shy about taking it out.

Personally, I say take as much out as possible. If carburated, drain bowls and spray them out with sea foam. Change fuel filter and water seperator if you have one. I'd probably replace water pump as well.

if tank is full then I would take out as much as you can, if tank is 1/2 or less I would put some fresh non ethanol gas in tank and run it.

change water pump

change lower unit oil

change water separator or install one

check batteries

you may or may not be ok with carbs but more then likely they will need to be cleaned

if its a 4 stroke change the oil in crankcase

check and clean plugs

if oil injected check oil system

thats all i can think of at the moment
