Pit bull owners are delusional. My dog would NEVER bite someone, until they do

Any dog can bite. But what percentage of human killings by dogs have happened by something OTHER than the pit bull breed? That's the real issue.

None, it's only the news media twisting it. Labs, Pomeranians, Goldens, and Pit Bulls are all the same. A bite is a bite.

At any point you never have to worry about my dogs. You never have to worry about meeting them or me unless you come to my house uninvited and you are certainly not invited. Stay off of my land and you have nothing to worry about. You are safe. That should make you happy.

I hope you're not foolish enough to believe that if someone comes on your land uninvited then your dog can attack them and you won't be responsible. Someone coming on your land and committing a crime yes, a salesperson, the person with a wrong address, or the girl scouts selling cookies. They would f up your 401k in a heartbeat. And the criminal better be in the middle of committing the crime and not get bit beforehand.

I don't really have to worry much about that. First of all my dogs are inside and in 12 years of living where I do we haven't so much as had a single trick or treater. It's kinda why I live where I live. Strangers don't come to my house. It's nice that way.

Some years ago, we adopted a dog rescued from an abusive situation. After a while, he ran over to the neighbor's and threatened their daughter. I took him out back and put a bullet in his head.

Read recently that Pit bulls make up 6% of the US dog population, yet are responsible for 71% FATAL dog attacks..........

Never question another's choice.........but they are just not worth the risk for me..........

Y?all ever ate one of the dogs you put down? I worked with a girl from Vietnam who swore that was some of the best tasting meat around. Said she served it at her wedding. Gotta be similar to a rabbit. And you wouldn?t have to dig a hole. Win win!

Funny twist to this story. Old fella about a mile up the road from us had his little dog killed yesterday when he let it out to potty. He heard commosion outside and went to check but not soon enough. 2 black labs or black lab mixed killed his pup. He did'nt have a gun and they ran when they saw him. One had an orange collar. They are now on the neighborhood shoot on sight list. When they are spotted if they are not in the care of their owner they will be killed where they stand. Neighbors gotta look out for neighbors. Maybe we just do stuff different up here? We aren't going to wait for it to be a kid.

Pure labs-not typical. Lab/pit mix-very possible.

The worst biting/niping dog I ever owened was a pure breed lab. Also the most troublesome. I loved that dog and she was not cheap but I gave here away simply because I di not want to shoot her. The only thing that saved her was that my wifes rose bush did not die until after she was gone. She dug up the same rose 2 days in a row. We had that rose bush for 10 years. The dog only 4 years.

google it , labs bite 13.3 %
pits bite 8.4 %
G. Shepards 7.8 %
Rotts 3.9 %
but out of 31 dog related fatalities in 2016 , 22 were from pits , 2 from Rotts.
Personalty, IMHO Pits should be in Zoo's only .
