Default Anyone fish Empire? Old pics.

I grew up fishing out of Empire and I still do whenever I get home. My great grandfather was an oysterman in Bayou Cook beginning in 1914. Dad and I had our own camp there from 1970-1997. Not many camps left out there. The fishing has been great since I was a kid. Just wondering if anyone here fishes out of Empire.

My favorite spots are what is left of the marsh in Bayou Cook and also Bay Bastian.

Here's a pic of the old place. Before and after Hurricane Danny took it in '97. That's my dad in the pic.

The last pic is Bayou Cook in 1943. The man is my great grandfather, Peter Rozich, native of Mali Ston, Croatia. The woman is my grandmother, now 96 years old, and the little boy is my dad.

That's good news. People are always asking me for a guide down there, but I've never used one, so I don't know how to answer. He doesn't run a yellow Lake and Bay does he?

I have aerial photography dating back to the 1960's.
I know I've seen lower plaquemines parish in our library.
Amazing how bad it's gotten since then.

So little is left, but amazingly just knowing where things used to be really helps your fishing now.
