I got a lews this year and love it but have only used it in freshwater. Was curious as to how they did in saltwater. May have to give it a shot.

I fish 90% saltwater and havent had any issues with mine... they have even been dropped a few times in the water while wading and surf fishing. After i wade or surf fish i do make sure i rinse them with fresh water when i get home tho.

Default $200.00 less saltwater baitcaster???

Bought 2 Chronarch 50E's last year and they have become my favorite reels. I have a Core 100MG that gave me problems after the first few trips. Sent it back to Shimano and haven't tested it out since I got it back. I bought one of the Curado I's(only bc I got it for $140) this summer but haven't even tried it out yet. I have about 6 Curado 200E's and really like those too but they aren't lasting like they used to either.
Hear great things about Lews but they just don't feel good in my hand. Too bulky and cheap feeling.
