Default Sabine Lake/River

Fished in Sabine lake and river yesterday. The north end of the lake had beautiful water clarity. You could see a bait in the water several feet down. There was a color line at the entrance of the lake from the river. North of that was dingy/ muddy river water. South of that was the clear water. There was a strong incoming tide. Light NE winds that hopefully will allow the high water to drop.

We couldn't find any reds or specks. Boated several flounder and headed back up river looking for bass.

North of I-10 bridge was a strong river current and high water. We couldn't find any cuts with water running out. Fished the river banks with no takers much less keepers.

I fished there yesterday (9/01), too. Launched about 2:40pm; was the only vehicle at the launch.
The water at the BOB launch looked great all the way West to the main river and North around the Highlines. From North of there it was chocolate milk.
The water is about 1 foot higher than it has been.
We only boated two dink bass and missed a few better ones.
The 10% chance of rain fell on my 100% a$$ just before dark...
Not my day.
In the process of loading the boat at the launch, noticed a string with four crappie tied to it, and a crab gnawing on one of them.
Nobody was there, no vehicles.
So we accepted those after readying the boat, just in case someone was fishing off the road somewhere and came back for them. But no vehicles or anything were parked anywhere.
I thought it was kinda crappy for someone to do this to crappie.

Anybody fishing out there Sunday, 9/04?
I'm going in the morning to try and redeem myself for last Thursday.
