Default Cypremort Point Fishing

I'm taking my dad out this weekend and he wants to Launch at Cypremort Point, Any tips and tricks for us to fish in that area? I have never fished it before and would love to put my dad on some reds.

Any place I can buy live bait or good spots to throw the ole cast net?

I fish big lake a lot and use lil jons like crazy, do they do good over here or is there another plastic that is good on this side?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking for your top secret bait or any special spots just general information to get me started. I am a decent fisherman just new to this area.

add any flooded cane/grass beds to your fishing spots. Plenty of reds in the bay on the north shore of Marsh island, keep moving, fish the points on the mouths of the bayous.

Should be good conditions on Saturday. The name of the store that has live bait is Last Stop but you don't need live bait to catch.

Default Latest fishing report

I heard they were catching limits of redfish not far from the Point. Start at Ivanhoe canal near West Cote Blanch bay and fish the banks with a cork and shrimp. Concentrate on the points. If you go near the Red Bluff, you've gone too far. Good luck.

Havent heard anything about Caldwell Reef in a while, so that must mean they are catching them there but being secretive about it

Fished a few Blks. outside of SW Pass. Slow-Slow, lots of Hardheads if using live bait. Tried everything...Ladyfish and Sharks with the occasional Speck mixed in.

I am taking a friend who is retiring and wanting to fish the bay and learn. Going out of Intracoastal City and showing him sw part of lake and some spot. Will check tee butte and Caldwell area and let y'all know. I'll give a report tomorrow. Went with Marty Lacoste this week in Dularge. a PRO and nice guy. 2 days of limits. 75 and 100. Good times. Go with him or Travis. Other guys are good but not in same ball park. Very professional. Had a small accident where my 7 yr old hooked the guide at first cast when I wasn't looking and had much grace. Great group of guys

We went out Saturday and the wind kicked out butts. We tried to get out of it but wasn't familiar with the area enough to do much. All in all we had fun even though we didn't land any fish. We will give it another go in the near future.

On another note:
we ran into a few wild life agents on the water as they were doing their compliance checks and I just wanted to say thank you to the Agents for all they do to keep us safe on the water. They were friendly and extremely easy to talk to. Keep up the good work..
