Default My pups first hunt

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416443487.657679.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1416443498.289913.jpg

Finally got the chance to take my hound out on her first hunt, she did way better than I expected. Other than licking my face and ears she sat still in the blind, her first bird was a cripple, she pounced on it and brought it straight back. She wasn't able to mark at all bc I'm a grass nazi and she couldn't see any of the birds fall, but she ran two 30 yard blinds, wasn't perfect but she did it. Needless to say I was pumped. To train from a pup to now and not have to throw rocks, or scream and holler I was more than pleased with her first hunt.

Careful, you'll make a lot of enemies on this site by having a well trained hunting dog.

Nice job though. She's a nice dog.

That's great. I lost mine this summer and am really missing her. From the photo, looks like she takes hunting really serious. LOL

Default PUP

Great looking dog. Nothing like watching the world thru the eyes of a youngster. My chocolate, 13 years old, still has it in his mind, but his body can't take the rough stuff anymore. Enjoy this friend while you can, all too soon they get old and eventually pass from us. I have a younger black, 7, however she developed a kidney issue 3 days before the opener and we almost lost her. She is on the mend but will be out for at least the first split and perhaps the season. But I'm glad she is in recovery. Anyway, good post and I wish you many years of hunting pleasure with this special companion.
