Headknocker January Snake Bite

My brother-n-law and I decided to sneak away from everything today and take the little pups out for some excercise and get them some time in the woods. I was hoping to get them on a small shoat or at least let them run a pig for a little chase.

Well, my little pup finds something a little more interesting than a pig. He apparently found a snake that was not still frozen from the weather last week. These little dogs are notorious for getting bitten by snakes, but it was the last thing I was expecting today with all the cold weather we have had. A trip to the vet and $100 later, he gets to sleep in the house tonight.

He looks like a UFC fighter after a fight, hope he fairs well. Do you know what kind of snake it was?.... Is that a ship in the background of the 2nd pic?

Once while out Deer hunting in a marsh in ~30 F weather, I found a Cotten Mouth coiled up around a tree root.

We never knew he got hit until we were loading them up, so not sure what it was. But, the area we were in is known for two things, pigs and cotton mouths. He was around a bunch of real bad stuff and he actually "bayed" something. By the time I got to him he was running circles around a big log. I thought he had found him a coon or possum, but now I think he found him a cotton mouth. Doing a lot better this morning!

Default Ouch

My old chocolate lab was bitten at my parents house in Maplewood 2 Februarys ago; it had been cold weather as well. He was also an inside dog. His lip looked just like your dogs, it wasnt a big deal though.
