Divine Intervention
Be careful out there.....This almost got me this morning. I pulled up to a gravity feeder in my Rhino...turned the engine off, then turn the switch back on so the cooling fan would run...My Mistake.. I did not hear the rattlesnake right under the feeder...nor did I see him. I don't know if he struck, but when I did hear him, he was curling - backing up.. I guess 2-3 feet from my exposed leg. I was in shorts with rubber ankle top boots.. I jumped and now he is between me and the Rhino. I'm stuck..A ten minute stand off and he relaxed. I was able to easy to the Rhino and get the pistol....His mistake!!! I will buy me a 20 gauge tonight. The rosary bead I carry in my pocket is the only reason I can think of why I didn't get hit...!!!! I'll make sure I have them in my pocket all the time from now on!!!

My grandpaw killed a six foot rattler in north louisiana last year while deer hunting.Ran over it with the four wheeler 15 times before it died.Sound like you got lucky on that one.
