I know alot of you here don't like Capt Eric Dumas but right now he is begging for help for a child that needs medical attention.

Seems like everytime a fellow sportsman can help a child they always come to the rescue.

Fishing for baby Carter
Baby Carter is 11 months old and was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis when he was only a month old.

Tuberous Sclerosis is a genetic disorder that affects one in six thousand peoople. It causes growth of benign tumors in many parts of the body including the skin, brain, kidneys, heart, lungs and retinas among many more. It commonly affects the central nervous system and results in a combination of symptoms including seizures, developmental delay, behavioral problems, skin abnormalalities and kidney dieases. Carter's case is more severe. As of now, there is no cure for this disease only treatment for what the tumors cause.

Carter began having seizures at three months old followed my infantile spasms. Treatment with steroids is standard despite the risk of serious side effects. However, such treatments still have not worked and Carter's spasms are getting worse. Tuberous Sclerosis hs majorly affected his development as well. Carter is far behind meeting his milestones. He is still unable to sit up unsupported and cannot crawl or push himslef up.

At this time baby Carter has 14 tumors on his brain, 1 on his heart, and 2 in his right kidney and has just begun having what has been discovered a silent seizures.

Because of the severity of Carter's condition he has been accepted as a patient at a highly specialized treatment facility in Los Angeles, California. Unfortunatley, this new family cannot affort to take their son to recieve such treatments. This clinic may be Carter's only chance at a normal life.

Please help this young family. An account has been opened up for baby Carter at Capital One in the name of Roslyn Hymel- Special Account.

In addition, A rodeo has been scheduled for June 20th, 2009 at the Rigolets Marina in Slidell.

Registration opens at 5:30 am and the tournament begins at 6:30am and will end at 12:30pm. You will be fishing for Redfish and Speckled Trout with award prizes to the top fisherman in different catagories. There will also be a raffle and silent auction during the lunch program.

The cost is $60.00 per person which will include your launch fee and lunch.
