Surgery time....

Get the luxury of having an adenoidectomy and a tonsillectomy towards the end of this month. Anyone had this done ? Recovery time ? Tips on do's / dont's ?

Had mine done 12/31/12. Felt like I had a wire brush in my throat for about a week. Stay hydrated, ensure worked great for me, and sleep as much as possible.

Tonsillectomy when I was 17, it was really bad for about a week. I have always heard it is harder on people the older they get. Both of my kids have had it the surgery.

Also, supposed to be 14 day recovery. I went back to work in 10 days but I have a job that's not too strenuous

after you 25-26 it's pretty bad. Take the pain pills is all I can tell you and drink plenty water. You probably going to drop 10 pounds or so.

im 27..... i dont care about losing the weight, just need to know what soup/liquids i need to stock up on before this ordeal goes down. I go to LC on the 23rd for consultation and im sure surgery will be the next week or so.. Dr Boyd (Ear, nose and throat) will do the deal.

Any kind of soup you like just don't get anything to spicy or with too much chucnky stuff.

I was 29 and it was rough. Dropped about 12 lbs, but like I said earlier Ensure helped alot. Its cold and coats your throat well all g with being nutritious.

smoothies good ??? Been thinking of making some deer roast smoothies. Spaghetti smoothies. Redfish on the halfshell smoothies..... any recipes ??

I had no trouble with mine. I think I was 18 or 20. It wasn't bad at all. I went back to dr after a week an he wanted to write me a script for more pain pills. I was like oh I stopped taking those after the second day, I got plenty left. His jaw dropped. He couldn't believe it. So maybe I was a rare case. But for me it wasn't bad at all
