no the rods are very light the wrapping does not add hardly any weight
remember this a lot of my work goes to texas so that accounts for the texas flag if i build for you guys i will take care of you as well all you gotta do is ask and stix will do whatever it takes, i am not going to post any more for now i will wait for shad to get my banner up and then look out stis is going to rock you cajun guys.
ok to my first cajun customer's lets say the first 6 i will build you a 6ft6 or 7ft spiral guide rod that i sell for $225 and if you contact me say in the next few days the rod is yours for $175 and i will give you a set of titanium guides at no etra charge now if any one knows what a set of titanium guides goes for then he knows i just gave you another $90 plus dollars, in addition the rod will be built low profile, you will need to talk with me to ask about the quality of a spiral with low profile guides, all i can say is dont let this pass you up.

Thanks for becoming a SaltyCajun sponsor, Billy!

I personally have two Billystix rods, and love them. I can cast quite a bit farther than with my American Rodsmith, Castaway, or Laguna, and it's easier to reel in the big ones without the rod rolling in your hands. If you've never used a SpiralStix with the eyes wrapping around the rod, you ain't never fished.

stix

her is where we finished during the series...week #1 and week # 2...TOP TEN week #3 moved into 5TH PLACE WEEK #4 move into 2ND PLACE and finally finished in 5th place overall after 5 weeks of fishing. That qualified us for the Tarpon Cup Championship, we finished in 8TH PLACE ( i lost a 180lb.+ fish at the boat that would have made us undisputed champions, damn it. oh well next year we will have a few more billystix, and really whip their asses, thanks for everything and we all love our rods.

Default split grips

hunting fool
split grips yes i have done them but i am not a big fan of the concept in my opinion split grips are not truly a very pliable feature on a custom rod, i would much rather spend my time and effort in perfecting the balance, in a split grip a builder has to put a small counter balance in the very end of the rod to get a balance now at this point he charges you more for less, i would rather say go ahead and put a cut out reel seat on the blank so that you can feel the blank place a dood quality cork grip on the blank in such a manner as to when you place your reel on the rod and you lay your rod on your index finger at the threaded barrell with a 7 in grip or a 9 in grip and watch a perfect balance, then complete the build with the spiral wrap and have you go with your fishing buddy and make a cast and your top water bait land approx 30 feet past his bait, he looks at you and ask "how the he!! did you do that" answer with a perctly balanced billystix spiral" the "spiralstix" now answer to your question yes if that is what my customer wants then that is what he gets, but i will give him the pros and the cons before i take his order.
the one thing you all will find sooner or later that i am a custom rod builder because i have a passion for what i do , my truck is paid for so i dont need to earn money i have a job in other words i will never scre!! a customer just give him service.
the other question i am often asked how do i ever get a price answer there is only one way"you must talk with me directly" and let me know what your needs are i will never build a rod by e mail never.
i want to know who i am building for, i want your rod to be built just for you and no one else, this is very important to me and it will never change.
so if you have questions to get answers call me i will talk to you for as long as you want it's your dime.

Don't worry Billy has the appropriate LA flag for you. It's one known the world over and I know ya'll are as proud of it as we are the Lone Star.
