Went 2 weeks ago...Friday was nice except for gale force winds...we caught plenty of crabs and couple reds. Sat. everyone and their mother was running around and crabbing off every weir. But we found a spot and caught plenty of crab but no fish.

Here are some pics from today. Had a good time catching some croakers and one flounder. We also caught a few reds and trout that were under sized. On the way back home the draw bridge on Pecan Island broke and after waiting an hour we decided to go all the way to I10 by Lake Charles, but still had a good time.

Tim.......what size are the crabs that you caught?

About what percent are 5" [tip to tip]? Were you keeping some crabs under 4".

How was the shrimping while you were there? Any reports?

Last May, I went the week before the season opened and caught the 10 # limit in about 30 minutes.....keeping only 30 to 40 count or larger shrimp. There were lots of small crabs [ie. under 4.5"] but I did get about 3 dozen 5+ " crabs.
