Default 10/09 Friday report, VB

Had the day off so I put down at Quintana(the darn ticket machine didn't wanna take my dollar so I left a dollar on my dash lol), bought some live shrimp from Dockside and headed southwest to the reefs. Major wave direction was out of the north, according to tide charts, the moon over was supposed to be around 9am but I never saw the moon. Water on a scale from 1 to 7 was about a 5(very clear and green), salty by taste and the tide was high and started to fall around 10am....I used live shrimp/fresh shrimp under a popping cork and Carolina rigged live shrimp and the bite was here and there. My total on the day was 15 nice speckled trout in the box, two dink trout, a dink red and a huge bull that hit my bait and cork at same time, took off running and popped my line....the cork never came up lolol.......it was a beautiful day with very calm seas all day...tight ones....

Nice trip, and a perfect report, very descriptive. Thanks for taking the time to post.
New moon, so that may explain why you didn't see it. I am a big believer in the solunar tables. Of course many factors play a part, but when the moon is right I think it makes a big difference.

I have lived by the moon over/under for catching fish for years....just do a search on "Scankdog" on rod n reel .com and see the last 10yrs of my reports on catching and the moon was either overhead or underfoot(I choose my times to fish that are when I get a moon overhead or underfoot)....I have seen it work time an time again......
