Looking on a little input from others with experience with either the 2000 Pathfinder or the 2200 TE Pathfinder boats. I'm debating which boat to get. I live in Lafayette and fish Big Lake the majority of the time, and I fish on average once a week so I haul the boat for long distances very often. The 2000 has a 150 VMax and the 2200TE has a 200 HPDI. Any wisdom or input on the two options I am looking at would be great. Thanks

the 2200 with the HPDI................you'll get better fuel economy, plus a bigger boat is always better.........BTW..........you'll need someone to go with........,,hint hint

The only problem I can find with the 2200 is that it has a single axle trailer. I'm pretty sure that the boat/motor combo is over the safe weight for the trailer. Isn't it funny how dealerships like to sell an expensive boat with the cheapest trailer possible to save a few bucks!

They know that you don't want that trailer so they'll just jack the price and equip you with a tandem-axle trailer. They're as crooked as car dealers.

It's got an almuinum "I" beam EZ Loader. I''m not sure what they are rated for, but my guess would be less that the 2200TE with a 200HPDI which is approx. 2,500lbs. Upgrading the trailer would def. have to be a priority within the first couple months....which is another 2k after a trade in with the old trailer.

I would not drive away with a single-axle trailer under that boat. Tell 'em you want a tandem-axle or you're out. They're trying to hoot you.

It's not a dealership. The boat is second-hand. I could possibly talke the seller down some for that and replace the trailer myself.

i would avoid the 20 pathy if possible, plagued with porpoising problems and the resale is much lower.....

it's a good hull and may not be too bad with the 2 stroke but 20' owners with the F150 almost always have to use tabs at midrange.

the TE is much more boat, not really an apples to apples comparison....

yeah the 20 does porpoise with the 20 inch shaft motors. they run better with the 25 with a jack plate. id go with the 22 and tell the guy to knock 1500 off for the trailer being a dud. 22ft boat with a single axle trailer? he must of kept it in a slip.

I'd vote for the 22 just on size. Pathfinder is a good boat, but will beat you up in a chop. 22 helps with that. That size also seems to be ideal for the wave spread on big lake.

I have a 2200 v pathfinder with a 150 yamaha 4- stroke,I bought it new in 1999 and it came with a tandem axle trailer. I can't complain about this rig, it is a good riding boat and a dry ride!

Get the biggest boat and engine u can afford. Also get a tandem axle trailer.
I know from experience tha a tandem will save u. Coming home from big ake last weekend i blew a bearing/ hub . I live in hammond, 3 1/2 hrs away. I limped home with one tire missing , but i made it home!!

As far as boat size, a 22 ft will ride way beter than a 20 ft. And the engine is just as important. Id try and get a 225 4 stroke. Its great on fuel and isnt much more on price. I bought my purebay 2200 with a 150 2 stroke, 5 months later i got the 225 4 stroke yammy and love it!! Quiet, smooth, powerful and fuel efficent. Hope this helps.
Also, get all ur add-ons dealer installed prior to picking up the boat.
