Default 11-7-17 still catching Crappie on Calcasieu

But it's seems to be slowing down some for various reasons. Been getting out late and water is stained with a lot of current, lots of boat traffic and barges, one of my better holes being fished out by lots of fisherman. Like calling em my holes but we all know whomever there first it's there hole for that time. It's the ones I take the time sinking trees on I like to keep to myself but those have not been producing like the were a month ago. Anyway I've had to change tactics a little to get them. Add weight and tight line. Some are down as deep as 20 feet and just right off bottom and others are 6 feet still. Either way with current it's better to tight line and keep bait straight down. Ended up with 20 today. Having to fish harder for them, wat was quick 2 hour trips are now 3, 4, sometimes 5 & 6 hours. Still fun! Still easy! Still beautiful scenery along one of the prettiest waterways in Louisiana! Man do I regret leaving after Hurricane Rita. O and the average fish seems to be getting smaller as well but still catching 14"ers every trip. Today had a couple 14" bass as a nice bonus. They both got me wrapped up and had someone came by they would of had a nice laugh cause the first one I almost fell out boat. I was pullin the boat across brushes to get to it and when I finally got there I had to go down about 2 1/2 feet and about the time I lipped the fish the boat went back the way it came from the pressure and I was hanging on for life on top of a bunch of little branches. But I got the fish. Lol. Going to give it break tomorrow with rain in forecast but when I get off Thursday morning @ 6am I will be there and hopefully the bite is still good early like it was a week ago. Tight lines everyone. Try to stay in the boat!!!!!

Lol. Way to hang in there. You're still making solid trips for sure!
