Default Big Lake Solo trip 6-12

After all the craziness and excitement of my little girls 2nd bday party on Saturday, I decided I needed some alone time on the water. Got out early on Sunday and decided to target reds and flounder (best shot fot STAR since history shows I cant catch big trout). Started off beatin the east bank by Crab Lady Landing working south throwing an olive Tsunami swim shad. Picked up some nice flounder off the bat only 1 of which actually made it in the boat, 3 lost right at the boat. Turns out I have a bad battery that didnt hold a charge so by 7:30 I was out of trolling motor . Used what little I had and inched along to the next marsh opening where I caught some reds. Decided to go drift turners since the wind started blowin and I didnt have trollin motor. Put a gulp shrimp on under a cork and got a trout right off the bat but didnt see another one after. Fished gulp on bottom and picked up a red then another on some schooling reds that were blowin up on a bait ball( that was a cool sight). Tried to finish my limit but couldnt and headed in around noon. Had to wait in line for 30 minutes to back my trailer in the water at Cal Pt. All in all a very enjoyable morning by myself!

Side note: Does anyone think the red in the last pic looks funny? Like his tail is too short or somethin? I think he might have just been chubby.

W syndrome. Nice catch bro! Hate to hear your TM battery went out like that. Way to put fish in the boat regardless. Looks like a pretty big flounder too!

Of course ya always gotta have the finished product! The last one is of my 2 year old tearin up some fried fish for the first time. Took a minute to get her to try it but once she did she started shoveling it!
