Default Creosote removal from boat railing

Does anyone know what will remove creosote from the rub rail on my boat? We went to the Mermentau River redfishing yesterday and my boat got up against the pilings and got some creosote on the rubrail and a little on the top (the non-skid surface). I have tried bug and tar remover and WD-40, with no luck...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...and by the way, we caught fifteen keeper redfish, and four "big nasty's"...only wanted cracked crab on the bottom...wouldn't touch market shrimp or other dead bait.

Thanks again,

LL

PB Blaster will take it right off. Just spray and let it sit for a few minutes

Well, I appreciate all the tips...I tried WD40, bug and tar remover (no results with either)...so, I went and bought some paint thinner...it worked somewhat, but took a lot of elbow grease. Then I tried some kerosene, then gas...all I can tell y'all is after several hours of scrubbing, rubbing and washing, most of the creosote is gone. Be careful what you let ur boat get up against! Thanks for all your suggestions and help! Fish on my friends!

It is a Penetrating Catalyst Lubricant. You can find it at most hardware stores. Someone told me about it when I first started working on my jeep and I have not bought anything else since then.

Thanks! I'm gonna get some and, hopefully, not need it! Man, that stuff is tough to get off!

Thanks again...LL
