Default flushing 250 yamaha 4 stroke

do you need to crank engine when flushing 250 yamaha 4 stroke? do you need muffs if you start engine? I heard waterhose did not supply enough water to start engine.

I just screw the hose in and turn water on for 15-20 min I don't crank it . If I do ever need to crank it I put muffs on , I agree its not enough water w/o the muffs
