Default Blew powerhead last week!

Blew my powerhead on my 90 merc last week. If anyone knows of somone with a motor or powerhead layn around hit me up! Want to get her going again asap.

My buddy rode w me last sunday and mentioned that the motor sounded like it was detonating when first gettin on it tryn to get on plane... I never noticed it but i had noticed it taking a lil longer than normal to plane off... Next trip while gettin on plane boom! Deff gonna be wayyyy upside down on this boat now...

looks like you threw a rod and cracked the head. not as bad as you think. you could rebuild it depending how bad it hit the cylinder.

Hopefully next week ill have someone look at it... If the boat was worth more money id just repower with a newer motor... But its just not worth it..

Nah i had deleted the oil injection awhile back... Had been running great... Motor is a 2005

That's just the head man! Fix that!

Ipen it up and see what kinda damage was don't to the cyl wall. May be a quick fix!

Hard to repair cast aluminum....but it may not be as bad as it looks. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a second hand motor than rebuilding it.

Did the same thing to my 40. You may have had a bent piston rod. That's what happened to mine. Ever got water in your cylinder?

Not that i know of... But when i pulled the spark plug it was kinda milky
