Exclamation Oyster HOUSE BILL NO. 156

Representative
Stephen C. Dwight
Has put in place a bill that will over turn the dredging of oysters back to tong only.
This will to me is a win win for everyone , it will save oyster fisherman from losing there jobs and help Big Lake oyster stock build back up to normal.

I recommend any angler who fishes big lake to email and thank Mr Stephen for doing this for our lake. And hope and pray it can get passed .

If CCA can get this bill passed, then kudos to them for finally doing something this century to help Big Lake.

No where have I seen the CCA involved in this issue ?

Can you show me proof of CCA involvement ?

Because many of us Guides have been in contact with WLF , Rep and local members pushing this to happen

Never heard 1 thing where CCA is involved

Im just asking not bashing? IF they are in good for them just wish we could see more of there involvement up front .

If they are on the front line to help this get passed I will be the 1st to give them kudos

I'm pretty sure they are involved now, but it's funny how at the "state of the lake" meeting that was held at Prien Lake Park a few years it was evident that this needed to happen then. I don't know the full story, but I doubt CCA was the initial group leading for the closure and this bill. If they were, then good. Finally.

That is really strange man.

Why would you not want to spread the good news about the work CCA has done to get the bill to this point?

I said "I don't know." Assuming they weren't because the oyster situation has been bad for years, not sure what would have changed to make something happen. Like I said, a few years ago at the meeting at plp, the oyster presentation showed how pitiful the situation was, and the questions asked were poorly answered and basically ignored or dismissed. CCA should have been saying "yeah you know, this is bad, we're going to get right on this." Now finally something is being done and I do know CCA is involved, just not sure why, if this thing was initially pushed by CCA, they waited this long to do something.

How about we quit bashing each other and get this passed?

I hope CCA is behind/involved/whatever in this bill. Whether you like them or not, they have the people in BR to help get this passed.
