Default Grand Isle 8/9 - 8/10

I'm always bumming off of reports on here so I figured I'd return the favor. We went down to Grand Isle this weekend and fished the beach side. Caught a little over a hundred keepers with about 80 of them being keeper specks( 3 people in the boat with only two fishing for the most part). Rest were decent sized white trout. Caught 80 last weekend with most of them being white trout. All on double Beatles. Caught fish almost every cast and a lot of doubles, just a lot of small fish. No need for live bait. It was kind of hard to find down there this weekend anyway. First picture is last week's catch and second picture is this week's catch after they were cleaned. They made 8 bags of fish. Some people were also catching off the bridge just a lot of small ones.uploadfromtaptalk1407722804888.jpguploadfromtaptalk1407722814764.jpg

I think everyone is scared to get in the water right now! Open scratch could mean death or amputation!

Same here two of us fished this weekend, both from the boat and also in the surf. We limited out each with a two day limit and no telling how many we had to throw back.

Saturday web caught nice size fish between 16" and 18" but on Sunday nothing larger at 15".

Spoke to a couple of friends and they also limited out, the fishing is on in GI, to bad I leave for NC tomorrow for two weeks.

Saturdays catch, the biggest one is right at 19".

Oh yea and I guess now that this is on the web I should be clear that six of the fish you see here are white trout.

I know its kind of late now but to clarify yes we were there for two days. Wish we could have caught limits both days. If every 11.5 inch fish I caught was 12, we would have limited out easily. It was getting a little ridiculous.

Yea we must have caught over two hundred trout that weekend... the key was to move around and find where the keepers were hanging out.

Can't wait for the winter bank fishing trip. All those 11" + summer trout will be 12" and if it's cold like last year ,stacked up like cord wood in a few spots i know about.
